- Task-based individual volunteering opportunities, such as award judging or evaluating speakers
- Focus groups and task forces that meet for a short time to give feedback on a specific topic

Current NACE National Committees
Diversity Inclusion and Accessibility Committee
Committee members will provide guidance and information to NACE leadership and staff on DIA opportunities that benefit NACE members.
Help NACE collect, create, and share information, education, and resources on DIA in the catering and events industry. Foster collaboration between and collect feedback from member-organized communities.
This committee requires one (1) hour per month and up to two (2) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month.
Black Caucus Committee
The Black Caucus facilitates networking and the exchange of ideas among Black members of NACE.
The Caucus provides recommendations to the NACE National Board to advance the Black Community within NACE. Members of this committee must be NACE members in good standing.
This committee meets monthly for a one (1) hour call. For more information, click here.
Chapter Leaders’ Council (CLC)
Mentor and support leaders of NACE chapters by joining this committee.
This committee plays a vital role in developing and supporting chapter leaders and connecting them with the national organization.
This committee requires one (1) hour per month for a meeting and up to four (4) hours of additional work on activities such as monthly check-ins with chapter presidents.
*Members of this committee must have served as a NACE Chapter President.
Membership Retention Committee
The Membership Retention Committee evaluates and guides initiatives to ensure that members of the NACE community recognize, use, and value the programs, benefits, and connections available to them as members.
The committee focuses on member engagement to create strong relationships between members, the chapters, and the national organization. Coordinated programs that engage and retain first-year members are a key focus area.
The committee’s work will advance national efforts to align renewal and engagement communications and processes between national and chapter organizations by recommending toolkits and templates. Participating in this committee gives members an in-depth view of the membership process!
This committee requires one (1) hour per month for a meeting and up to two (2) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month.
Member Recognition Committee
This committee, previously "Awards", contributes to the increased recognition of the innovation and creativity of catering and event professionals through the NACE One Awards program and identifies other approaches to recognize members and contributors.
Work on this committee includes writing awards criteria, testing application systems, creating marketing plans, and recruiting judges.
The committee also helps identify key trends and creative elements and creates content that educates and inspires catering and event professionals.
This committee requires one (1) hour of meeting time per month and up to two (2) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month.
Membership Recruitment Committee
The Membership Recruitment Committee evaluates and guides initiatives to bring catering and event professionals into the NACE community and quickly connect them with the value of NACE membership.
The committee works to identify key benefits of membership across the diverse segments and career stages NACE serves. The committee’s work will advance national efforts to provide segmented messaging and value propositions, coordinated onboarding communications, toolkits, and templates.
Participating in this committee gives members an in-depth view of the membership process!
This committee requires one (1) hour per month for a meeting and up to two (2) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month.
Professional Development Committee
Expand your writing and professional development skills by participating with others with the same passion for lifelong learning.
This committee enjoys sharing ideas and knowledge about growing and developing the certification program and its policies and procedures. Learn more about developing a high-quality and diverse education program, as well as how to identify topics and select top-notch speakers.
Members of this committee directly impact NACE's national Experience conference education, online education programming, and webinars by brainstorming content ideas and themes and reviewing speaker proposals and presentations.
This committee requires one (1) hour per month for a meeting, and up to 2 (two) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month, with five (5) hours of work twice a year for review work.
Nominations and Elections Committee
Join this committee to help NACE plan and execute the annual nominations and elections process while learning more about governance and elections.
Members of this committee are representative of the NACE members on a broad level. They encourage other members to volunteer, plan, and execute the national elections.
This committee requires one (1) hour per month for a meeting and up to two (2) hours of additional work outside of the committee each month.
*Committee members must attend the Experience Conference to coordinate election activity on-site.
