NACE Announces Hall of Fame Award Recipient

Lisa Hopkins Barry, CPCE, Director of Catering and Conference Services at The Four Seasons Hotel Houston in Houston, Texas was selected for induction into the NACE Hall of Fame. In recognizing Hopkins Barry, the NACE board cited Hopkins Barry’s commitment to improving the catering and events industry while focusing on the success of others.
A 34 year hotel catering professional, Hopkins Barry has held numerous positions at the chapter and national level, including Houston Chapter President for eight years, Region IV Vice President on the NACE National Board in 2007-2008, a one year term as the Chair of the Chapter Presidents’ Council, chair of The National Membership and Chapter Relations Committee in 2009-2010, member of the 2010 Leadership Summit Planning Committee, first Vice President/President Elect on the NACE National Board from 2010-2012, and NACE National President from 2012–2014.
Hopkins Barry is a Midwestern native of O’Fallon, Illinois and her catering career began in 1989 at the McCormick Center Hotel in Chicago as a Catering Manager. She arrived in Texas with Medallion Hotels in May 1996 and returned to her catering roots in 1998 at The Houstonian Hotel as Director of Catering and Conferences.
In February 2013, Lisa was named in My Table Magazine’s “100 Women: Who’s Who in Houston’s Food and Beverage World.”
As NACE National President, Hopkins Barry has been featured in interviews on Fox News New Orleans, Fox News Chicago, and CNN Newsource sharing wedding planning tips. In May of 2013, she made a guest appearance on the Marie Osmond Show to discuss outdoor party planning ideas.
In announcing the selection, NACE National President Amber Allen, CPCE stated that “Lisa Hopkins Barry, CPCE, CMP, has inspired NACE members and leaders on a national and chapter level throughout much of her 32-year catering and events career. With a commitment to mentorship, she shares her knowledge and experience, along with her passion and support, with countless industry members and students. Lisa’s dedication to NACE and industry education are inspiring and NACE is excited to recognize her with the Hall of Fame Award.”
