A message from FON President Dana Blaugrund, CPCE, CWC

Dear Esteemed NACE Members, Foundation Trustees, and Hospitality Professionals,

Happy 2024!  As we race into the new year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey of my first year as President of the Foundation of NACE.  The potential for growth and positive change excites me, and I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates with you.

I'm delighted to welcome aboard two new trustees who are not just colleagues but passionate advocates for our cause. Karen Tucker, CPCE the creative force behind Relish Catering, is stepping in as our new Treasurer, and Kevin Dana. Marketing and Product Development at CORT, is taking the reins as the Marketing & Communications Chair.  Please join me in acknowledging their dedication as full-time volunteers, committed to furthering the catering and events field, and raising funds that empower us to support you every day.

Change can be tough, and this year, we bid farewell to two incredible trustees, Christina Alvarado, MBA, CPCE, and Gary McCreary, CMP, CPCE, CSEP.  Their unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions have left an indelible mark on our Foundation.  Let's express our deepest gratitude for their outstanding service to our industry.

In 2023, thanks to our donors, we awarded 4 scholarships exceeding $20,000, invested $20,000 into our endowment, and backed 15 NACE chapters with $7,500 in speaker grants.  It's crucial to highlight that while we raise funds, it's you - NACE members - who breathe life into dreams.  Your support, generosity, and commitment have enabled us to grant $300,000 in scholarships since 2008, fostering a truly incredible community.

As I embark on another term as President, I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to lead the Foundation of NACE.  Together, let's embrace the future with enthusiasm and continue this remarkable journey.
