A Message from 2024 NACE National President Michelle Dunnick, CPCE, MBA

Dear NACE Community,

Since 2008, NACE has been an integral part of my life, shaping my journey both personally and professionally. My initial foray began as the Director of Marketing for the New Orleans Chapter, and little did I know that this commitment would evolve into a transformative experience.

Volunteering for three years as a non-member, I found myself guided and mentored by the ever-supportive Tony Leggio. His encouragement led me to join the local board, where I assumed various roles, fostering personal and professional growth. Even during an 18-month hiatus for my graduate program, the NACE spirit lingered, drawing me back as soon as I graduated.

NACE has been my compass, propelling me forward in my career as a catering and event professional and a business leader. The invaluable knowledge, skills, and connections acquired through NACE have not only helped me achieve professional goals but have also paved the way for opportunities at the United Way of Southeast Louisiana and my current position at the New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute (NOCHI).

Taking on the role of Director of Events and Social Impact at NOCHI marked a deliberate shift to the catering and event venue side. I'm deeply grateful for the unwavering support and resources provided by those who have been part of my NACE journey.

As we step into an exciting year, I am thrilled to announce the launch of our new CPCE Exam and the Experience event in Denver this July. Additionally, the journey continues with the Evolve event in Richmond, focusing on rebuilding chapter leadership and expanding our brand in the industry.

It's an honor and humbling experience to serve as your NACE National President. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with our National Board, the Foundation of NACE, national volunteers, and our dedicated staff to serve our vibrant community. Together, let's fearlessly move forward, embracing the opportunities that lie ahead.
