Happy 15th NACE Anniversary to Sylvia Buell!

Please join us in celebrating Sylvia as we recognize her 15 years with NACE. We are thankful for Sylvia as the friendly voice of NACE and her passion for providing the best customer service to all NACE members and customers. Q: What are some of the biggest changes in the organization you’ve seen during your time with NACE?

A: Going virtual and technology upgrades- especially getting rid of paper and saving staff time. One of the reasons I have stayed with NACE so long is all the great support and flexibility for employees.

Q: What have you learned from NACE over the years?

A: Technology- it used to be that I looked to my husband and sons for help with basic functions- now they ask me. 

Q: What are some of the locations you’ve traveled to for NACE events over the years?

A: Baltimore, DC, Houston, Palm Springs, Cincinnati, and North Carolina. The best trip was the Tri-chapter event at the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina.

Q: What is the tastiest dish you've had at a NACE event?

A: Creamy grits at the Biltmore hotel! 

Q: Do you have any fun stories to share about your time with NACE?

A: Back when we had a big office with a conference room, one of my co-workers changed for her workout after closing and left her bra behind! 

Q: What will you do with your extra time?

A: Self-care!  Reading, hiking, travel.

Q: With whom do you enjoy spending your extra time? Family, friends?

A: Yes especially my family members that live out of state. I have a great group of book club (established in 1997) gals that I am very close to. I also plan to do some volunteer work for a couple of local organizations. I have two close friends who are always looking for volunteers.
