Hall of Fame Award

When you think of the NACE Anchorage Chapter, Cindy’s name no doubt comes to mind. But did you know that Cindy actually began her NACE journey in the lower 48 in 1983? Originally a part of the Orange County Chapter of NACE, Cindy served that chapter as both a board member and committee member for 5 years. When Cindy moved to Alaska in 1991 she could not imagine her career without NACE and worked diligently to get the chapter launched in 1994. Cindy has been a pillar of the Anchorage NACE family since, serving in several different board and supportive roles over the past 30 years. Cindy also supported two leadership conferences in Anchorage (in 1996 and 2006), creating memorable experiences for our chapter leaders. Cindy has long been a passionate champion of the CPCE program. In fact, more than 100 current and former CPCEs trace their interest in sitting for the exam to encouragement and guidance from Cindy. Cindy volunteered on our CPCE/NACE certification committee for over 15 years, including participating in the massive endeavor to rewrite the exam in 1996. Cindy has also been a key part of other NACE committees during her tenure including the National Awards Committee, Membership Committee, and Conference Advisory Committee. But Cindy’s national service does not end there. She also served as the Region 6 Vice President - supporting the Pacific Northwest region including the formation of the Tacoma/South Puget Sound Chapter. Cindy also served as the CPC (now known as the CLC) chair for two years, and National Secretary/Treasurer for two years. In her almost 40 years of membership, Cindy has attended all but three NACE National/Experience Conferences, often volunteering to represent her chapter. She is a friendly and welcoming face to all, whether you have had the pleasure of knowing her for years, or have just met her for the first time! When I think about the impact of her volunteerism, Cindy’s impact spans so many measurables: geography, time, service levels, and impacted parties. The strong, vibrant, community of NACE is better for her service, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of NACE’s highest recognition - induction into the NACE Hall of Fame.
