Volunteer with NACE

The work our volunteers do ensure members continue to have access to industry-leading education, tools, and resources they need to thrive.

This year we continued to offer the monthly virtual hangout where members discussed topics like catering trends, working with venues, using video in social media, and more. We also had a robust agenda during the 2019 NACE Experience

Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our community gathered for three days of learning, growing, and networking. All of this was possible thanks to the dedication of our volunteers.

We also introduced a revamped website, providing easy access to articles and resources you need to thrive in your career and business. Along with announcing our new website, we launched our refreshed brand identity that now reflects the vibrancy and optimism of our member community. Together we have accomplished a great deal, and together, we can continue to achieve more.

I got involved with my local chapter in Orlando in 2003. We were starting a student chapter, and I was able to witness and be included in the creation and growth of the chapter. It was enriching for me. The University of Central Florida students have worked at our annual Food and Wine Classic event, and we have employed interns from the student chapter at my hotel. Some of those interns became full-time employees at Orlando businesses as well as current Orlando chapter board members.

I grew personally by volunteering as a Chapter President’s Council (now the CLC) mentor. Not only did I get to help make decisions on future conferences, but I also helped train future NACE Leaders. I also spoke at NACE conferences and Catersource. I taught a cheese and wine class at our Food and Wine Classic chapter event. Before my NACE involvement, I never would have thought about doing these things.

NACE volunteer and leadership roles have helped me grow. I also take pleasure in giving back to the industry that has employed me for over 30 years.

On October 15, we will be launching the next call for volunteers. If you feel that you want to volunteer, please reach out to any of our board members or national staff. We would be happy to help guide you in the right direction! Thank you for being a member of NACE – together, we are stronger and can continue growing NACE as an organization where we can all thrive.

Sincerely,
Ed DiAntonio, CPCE, CMP
