“Pathways to Leadership” Task Force Launched

Volunteer leaders are the lifeblood NACE, both at the chapter and the national level. To promote and expand interest in national board service, the NACE National Board of Directors has formed the Pathways to Leadership Task Force. The task force has been charged with providing the National Board with recommendations on ways NACE can more clearly establish, define, and communicate different paths within NACE that allow interested and qualified members to serve the association at a national level.

Asked to share her thoughts on the importance and impact of the task force, National President Morgan Montgomery, CPCE, CMP was extremely enthusiastic. “I’m thrilled that the Pathways to Leadership Task Force will be looking at ways we can refine, diversify, and potentially expand the opportunities our members have to serve in national leadership roles,” she stated. “The task force is comprised of members with a wide variety of NACE histories and backgrounds. They will be examining our current leadership opportunities and crafting recommendations that better address the leadership needs of the association and volunteer opportunities desired by our members. As we look forward to the next 60-plus years of NACE, we need to ensure that we have multiple avenues for volunteerism and engagement within our membership.”

The task force will be chaired by Michelle Stansfield, CPCE who immediately connected with the purpose. “As a long time NACE member, I have seen the National Board structure change a few times over the years, to adapt to the needs of the Association,” she reflected. “It’s definitely time for us to consider possible changes. The approach the National Board is taking really shows their commitment to transparency and member engagement by getting current, past and future leaders involved in the discussions. This is a huge opportunity for NACE to get more members involved on a National level and in new ways that will make national leaderships positions more visible and accessible.”
