A La Carte NACE Blog
Fresh ideas and inspiration for your events.

Message from Doug Quattrini, CPCE, National President

As we all continue to work our way through this unprecedented time in our industry, I wanted to provide some updates for you and recap some of the measures we’ve put in place for members in response to managing COVID-19 repercussions.

  • We are working with Meghan Ely and Wedding Industry Speakers to bring you regional virtual professionals development meetings.  Members will be able to attend at convenient times and connect with local chapters and members.  Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement with more details!
  • In case you didn’t get a chance to join us, the recording of the NACE Member Virtual meeting is available and can be accessed from the NACE COVID Resource Page. Below is a summary of important and beneficial changes to NACE membership policies that have recently been implemented.
    • Effective immediately, the 30-day grace period that was in place for renewing your membership has been extended to 90 days.  We understand that employment status has changed for many of you, and this extension keeps your NACE membership active.
    • We are also offering payment plans, which can be combined with the extended grace period.
    • If your membership was being paid by your employer, and you are no longer in their employ, there is also a 90-day grace period during which your membership will be transferred to you individually. If your renewal date is further out than those 90 days, we’ll go with whichever is longer.
    • At this time, the 2020 NACE Experience Conference will be held as scheduled on August 2-5 at the Bellagio, Las Vegas.
    • The Early Bird registration for #NACEEXP2020 has been extended to April with cancellation fees being waived.
    • Chapter leaders have been given access to the national office Zoom account for board meetings and other chapter events. If you are not yet using this, you can reach out to the chapter services team at chapters@nace.netfor assistance with getting set up.

Please continue to visit www.nace.net/covid for up to date information and shared ideas.

Our National Staff has been planning virtual events to keep us connected, like our recent LOVE+UNITY virtual dance party on Instagram and Chapter Leader Happy Hour.  We’d love your suggestions, let us know what you’d like to see by contacting the staff at membership@nace.net.  Staff also will continue to develop educational content that supports our initiatives.

The guidelines and news we’ve all been seeing will continue to communicate ways we need to stay apart physically, and those important instructions should be followed for everyone’s safety.  That does not mean we can’t stay connected in other ways. Our industry has always thrived on being creative and developing “what’s next” – what better time than now to put those talents to use?

Stay safe, and please keep us posted on how you are doing.  I hope to see you all in person soon!

Doug Quattrini, CPCE
NACE National President
