How to Become a Non-Obvious Thinker

This year’s annual NACE Experience conference was held in Cincinnati, OH at the Hilton Netherland Plaza hotel July 14-17. Opening with an energizing first day, and following our conference theme of THRIVE, sessions focused on imaginative strategies and ideas from industry thought leaders & innovators.

Rohit Bhargava, entrepreneur, author, brand expert, and a non-cauliflower eating nice guy gave a very entertaining speech on innovation and disruption. Rohit is a Wall Street Journal best-selling author of six books in addition to having sold out keynote presentations and workshops across the globe.

A very busy man, Rohit not only keeps track of trends but is a consultant to numerous major organizations, guest lectures at prestigious schools (like Stanford), writes a personal ‘Influential Marketing Blog’, creates a monthly column for Brazil’s GQ Magazine on trends and technology and frequently contributes to notable business reviews.

There was an energy that swept through the room as Rohit presented numerous thought-provoking concepts on how to become a ‘non-obvious thinker’ during our #MotivationMonday Experience opening general session.

Some of these concepts included:

  • how to research trends by being observant
  • saving interesting ideas
  • being curious
  • being-open minded
  • listening and reading compelling stories

He emphasized how all these aspects come from face-to-face interaction like at an event because, as he stated, “Sharing experiences is a very powerful tool.”

Following such a marvelous start to the 2019 NACE Experience Conference attendees proceeded with three filled days of industry concepts, making fruitful relationships and exchanging innovative ideas. The 2020 NACE Experience Conference will take place August 2-5, 2020 at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
