Meet the Foundation’s 2020 Scholarship Winners

The Foundation of NACE, the charitable arm of the National Association for Catering & Events (NACE), has awarded its 2020 scholarships to three outstanding students and professionals pursuing a career in catering and events. These scholarships support the Foundation’s mission directly, to support the catering and events industry through education.

“Each year we are impressed with the overall interest and caliber of applicants we receive. We are humbled to help these talented individuals and excited this year to again include a mentorship opportunity to the scholarship winners. On behalf of the Foundation Trustees, we believe in supporting our future events industry leaders and we look forward to all the outcomes” said Harvey Stern, CPCE, CMP, President of the Foundation of NACE. “The Trustees would also like to thank the generous individuals, chapters and companies whose financial support make these scholarships possible.”

The outstanding awardees are as follows:

Casey Cramer, Vince DeFinis Scholarship

The Vince DeFinis Scholarship Program honors the founder of the first NACE chapter, Vincent DeFinis, CPCE, of NACE in Philadelphia, and is designed to offer support to undergraduate students in the hospitality industry who demonstrate leadership abilities.

Casey Cramer is a member of the University of Houston, Houston Chapter. Inspired by her family’s experience in catering and hospitality, Casey is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from the Conrad N Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Through her involvement in the NACE Houston Student Chapter, Casey serves on the Education Planning Committee, where she has assisted in the planning and execution of the chapter’s Speed Networking Event.

The recipient will be awarded a scholarship package valued at more than $7,000 that includes tuition reimbursement, travel grants, membership, and a mentorship program.
