Catering and event professionals from all parts of the industry have been impacted by the pandemic and the parallel economic downturn, resulting in the need for additional industry support and advocacy. We invite you to join us on September 23 at 2:00 PM Eastern to learn more about advocacy and what you can do in your local area and nationally to effect change. You have the power to show others the value of this industry!
NACE National President Doug Quattrini, CPCE, will moderate an open conversation with Founding Board Members of the Live Events Coalition, Nancy Shaffer, President, and Bonnie Fimiano, CPCE, Membership Chair, to give you more information about their mission, purpose, results to date and easy steps you can take to get involved.

NACE National President

Nancy Shaffer
Nancy Shaffer is the Founder and CEO of BRAVO! Events. Established in 1997, Nancy and the BRAVO! Events team plan, market and produce events for corporations, associations and non-profits; mentoring clients to appreciate the purpose, and triumph in the success of, in-person experiences while instilling interest, pride and impact.

An industry veteran and authority, Nancy frequently speaks at business events, forums and gatherings and is often featured in trade publications. Nancy serves as the Board President of the National Live Events Coalition elevating the voice of the industry to build awareness and gain the attention of policy makers. In addition, she is a founding member of the DC Events Coalition where she is one of two members tasked with developing and leading the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity programing.

Nancy is passionate about the power of live events and during this unprecedented time she has committed her time and leadership to make sure the industry and its people survive.

Bonnie Fimiano, CPCE
Bonnie Fimiano, CPCE, is the owner/founder of Café Ala Carte which was established in 1996 and Chocolate Fountains of South Florida which was added to complement their services in 2005. Bonnie has been a staple in the South Florida event industry as a distinguished business owner, industry leader, engaged and philanthropic volunteering with non-profit organizations in South Florida, and served as a mentor for many in the industry. Her NACE involvement started the day she joined in March of 1998 and her membership has never lapsed! Her most memorable NACE moment was earning the George Zell Spirit of NACE National Award in 2005.

When Covid19 hit, Bonnie was unable to sit back and be idle when the industry she loves and is so passionate about and has been a part of for 25 years, was in a dire situation. She immediately reached out to help when she heard about the Live Events Coalition. She joined the National Board in early April and has been working tirelessly with local and national legislators since. As the Membership Director and a National Board Member her goal has been to get as many industry professionals involved and active to increase awareness about the decimation to the Live Events Industry, our ecosystem and the 12 million industry professionals that have been devastated as a result. In September, she was able to create a Florida Live Events Coalition with an amazing group throughout the state!
