Message from Lawrence
It’s that time again, the end of the year when business gets intense, schedules go haywire and we try to make it through the rush. And then, hopefully, the whirlwind subsides, and we all find time to step back and spend quiet time with family, friends and loved ones.
Sitting under the tree for the entire NACE membership this year is one package the NACE Board and staff are so excited for you to “unwrap.” We’re so excited we’re just going to tell you what it is. At the end of the month, the NACE community will receive a completely redesigned and rebuilt website. After months of collaboration between members, staff, web developers, designers, and other assorted elves, our new site will go live. And there’s a lot to be excited about!
First, the site will include a brand-new Resource Library that makes it easier than ever to find information, tools and resources to aid in your day-to-day work. You’ll be able to browse by topic or search to pinpoint exactly what you need. This content library will continue to grow, keeping fresh new ideas and content coming your way.
It will also feature one very important new content area, our Tech Hub. Event technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace and it can be difficult to keep track of what’s available, let alone pinpoint the best solutions for your business and events. Layer onto this all of the systems that are available - marketing, time management, project management and everything else you do - and technology becomes a very difficult area to manage. The NACE Tech Hub will cut through the noise and the clutter, giving you curated information and recommendations from NACE members who are experts in this area. The members of our Marketing and Technology Committee deserve special recognition for this monumental task: Alexis Crow, Corey Frier, Lori Kochendorfer, Kameela Lewis, Morgan Montgomery, CPCE (board liaison) Aaron Shook, CPCE (chair) and Jorge Tovar.
The technology underpinning this new site will allow us to continue growing and expanding our online services and developing a single platform that connects and informs us all, across all interests, specialties and chapters.
With the launch of our new website, NACE will also debut a refreshed brand and an updated look that reflects our energy, passion, and both the transformation of the organization and its vision for the future. Our new brand is focused on the essence of NACE, staying true to who we are while giving us visual currency. It gives us powerful groundwork for telling the story of who we are and what we do. The NACE Brand Task Force was instrumental in this effort. They provided an incredible amount of insight and advice and they are definitely on Santa’s “Nice List”: David Caruso, Jason Dolan, Vildana Kurtovic, Morgan Montgomery, CPCE, Doug Quattrini, CPCE, Rosy Usmani, Bruce Vassar and Meghan Ely.
On behalf of the NACE National team, here’s wishing you the best of the season, and a safe and joyous New Year!
Lawrence Leonard, CAE, CMP
