As you’ve heard from us over the past few months, NACE is committed to building a more diverse and inclusive association, and we are happy to provide you with an update on the progress we’ve made.
Our vision is to be an organization that creates and fosters a safe, supportive environment for its members, Black and non-Black, to engage in discussion, educate themselves, and take action. And to achieve this, we’ve hired a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion expert, Beth Ruffin, of The Everyday Inclusionist (www.bethruffin.com), to help us with our DEI strategy, train our national leaders, chapter leaders, members and headquarters staff, and provide resources to help us address knowledge gaps. Our partnership with Beth will focus on 5 key areas: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategy; Leadership Engagement; Governance Work; Chapter Work; & Industry Work.
To start this work, Beth has created a member engagement survey to help us measure feelings of inclusion as a member of NACE. This survey has been distributed to all members by email. Your feedback is essential to moving this work forward and your responses will help us further develop our DEI strategy and action plan. The survey will be open until October 16, 2020.
